Adding/Updating Blogs
Blog Pages
The first step is creating a blog page where your blog post will live. That might sound a little confusing, so what do I mean?
A blog page is a collection of all the blogs you’ve written. This is the page you’ll come to overtime you need to add a new blog.
A blog post is any post you’ve written that lives inside and is accessed by visiting the blog page (collection).
So how do we get started?
Open the Pages panel and click the + icon (by Main Navigation assuming you want this page visible to visitors).
On the menu that pops out click Collections and then click Blog.
Browse the layouts and choose the one you most adequately fits your needs.
Enter a page title for you blog page and hit Enter.'
Once your blog page has been created you can use the settings (cog) menu to make changes such as code injection, social sharing images, podcasting information, SEO title and posts per page.
The blog page is a preset, so you cannot add other blocks to this page. However, you can add blocks above or below you blog posts.

Without using custom css Squarespace blogging options are fairly limiting as far as layout and you are still using the Classic Editor instead of the newer 7.1 Fluid Editor.
Once you have your Blog Page open click the + symbol next to your page settings cog
That will automatically add a new Blog Page and you can begin editing
Now you get to the editing part. The classic editor looks like this when you are working with it, just one block added underneath another:
Your options for adding blocks are basically the same as any other page, so there is a diversity in elements.
What is I want to have a side by side layout instead of straight down.
Of course you can always accomplish different layouts if you know a little CSS. Although it’s limited you can achieve multiple columns of content without custom css as well.
If you grab a block with your mouse and drag it over to the side of the column you are currently working with, you’ll notice a blue line appear and you content in your original column scoots over to the side and shrinks a little. This denotes that you now have a new column created and you can drop the block you dragged to the side.
If you’ve already made it halfway down the page and just wanted to add a piece of content next to the block you’re working on, you may be surprised to find that the block you just dragged over to the side has landing at the top of the page instead! This is because the classic editor like to have blocks layered on top of each other and doesn’t “Stick” in an empty space. The key to positioning the block where you need it is to use Spacers. Spacers will fill up the empty space to the point that your block can now live halfway down the page. Spacers will fill up the empty space to the point that your block can now live halfway down the page.
Anywho, that is the basic editing/adding of blog post. Hope you found it helpful :)
